- 3C@CTDI: colaboração, contribuição e comunidade em CTDIPublication . En este contexto, se presenta el Grupo de Investigación PlGeCo que pretende, por un lado, implementar la utilización de herramientas Web 2.0 de tal forma que se pueda conseguir ciertas premisas que actualmente orientan la nueva generación web (colaboración, contribución, comunidad), aplicando-las á la actividad lectiva e, por otro lado, el estímulo de la producción científica de los profesores y académica de los alumnos, así como su posterior análisis. Se ha hecho una valoración de los proyectos en curso y se discuten las expectativas esperadas presentado un análisis de las perspectivas y ambiciones futuras del grupo

- An engine for generating XSLT from examplesPublication . Leal, José Paulo; Queirós, RicardoXSLT is a powerful and widely used language for transforming XML documents. However its power and complexity can be overwhelming for novice or infrequent users, many of which simply give up on using this language. On the other hand, many XSLT programs of practical use are simple enough to be automatically inferred from examples of source and target documents. An inferred XSLT program is seldom adequate for production usage but can be used as a skeleton of the final program, or at least as scaffolding in the process of coding it. It should be noted that the authors do not claim that XSLT programs, in general, can be inferred from examples. The aim of Vishnu - the XSLT generator engine described in this paper – is to produce XSLT programs for processing documents similar to the given examples and with enough readability to be easily understood by a programmer not familiar with the language. The architecture of Vishnu is composed by a graphical editor and a programming engine. In this paper we focus on the editor as a GWT web application where the programmer loads and edits document examples and pairs their content using graphical primitives. The programming engine receives the data collected by the editor and produces an XSLT program.

- An ontology roadmap for crowdsourcing innovation intermediariesPublication . Silva, Cândida; Ramos, IsabelOntologies have proliferated in the last years, essentially justified by the need of achieving a consensus in the multiple representations of reality inside computers, and therefore the accomplishment of interoperability between machines and systems. Ontologies provide an explicit conceptualization that describes the semantics of the data. Crowdsourcing innovation intermediaries are organizations that mediate the communication and relationship between companies that aspire to solve some problem or to take advantage of any business opportunity with a crowd that is prone to give ideas based on their knowledge, experience and wisdom, taking advantage of web 2.0 tools. Various ontologies have emerged, but at the best of our knowledge, there isn’t any ontology that represents the entire process of intermediation of crowdsourcing innovation. In this paper we present an ontology roadmap for developing crowdsourcing innovation ontology of the intermediation process. Over the years, several authors have proposed some distinct methodologies, by different proposals of combining practices, activities, languages, according to the project they were involved in. We start making a literature review on ontology building, and analyse and compare ontologies that propose the development from scratch with the ones that propose reusing other ontologies. We also review enterprise and innovation ontologies known in literature. Finally, are presented the criteria for selecting the methodology and the roadmap for building crowdsourcing innovation intermediary ontology.

- Aplicações da Web social como complemento da aprendizagem no ensino superior: um caso de estudoPublication . Oliveira, Lino; Moreira, FernandoA mudança de paradigma imposta pelo Processo de Bolonha, em que o aluno passa a ser responsável pela sua aprendizagem, e uma nova geração de estudantes universitários com maiores aptidões tecnológicas, representam um enorme desafio para as Instituições de Ensino Superior. A utilização no ensino, de novos conceitos da Web Social, suportados por aplicações habitualmente designadas de Web 2.0, com as quais estes novos estudantes se sentem à-vontade, poderá trazer benefícios em termos de motivação, frequência e qualidade do envolvimento nas actividades académicas. Neste artigo é apresentada uma experiência pedagógica envolvendo uma plataforma de ensino a distância e aplicações centradas na Web, cujos resultados permitem perspectivar de que a utilização conjunta deste tipo de aplicações poderão contribuir significativamente para que os alunos do ensino superior obtenham competências diferenciadas em domínios habitualmente deficitários.
- Autonomous guided vehicles applied to industrial engineering and management studiesPublication . Dias, André; Dias, Nuno; Campos, Daniela; Ferreira, HugoThis article presents a framework to an Industrial Engineering and Management Science course from School of Management and Industrial Studies using Autonomous Ground Vehicles (AGV) to supply materials to a production line as an experimental setup for the students to acquire knowledge in the production robotics area. The students must be capable to understand and put into good use several concepts that will be of utmost importance in their professional life such as critical decisions regarding the study, development and implementation of a production line. The main focus is a production line using AGVs, where the students are required to address several topics such as: sensors actuators, controllers and an high level management and optimization software. The presented framework brings to the robotics teaching community methodologies that allow students from different backgrounds, that normally don’t experiment with the robotics concepts in practice due to the big gap between theory and practice, to go straight to ”making” robotics. Our aim was to suppress the minimum start point level thus allowing any student to fully experience robotics with little background knowledge.
- BabeLO : an extensible converter of programming exercises formatsPublication . Queirós, Ricardo; Leal, José PauloIn the last two decades, there was a proliferation of programming exercise formats that hinders interoperability in automatic assessment. In the lack of a widely accepted standard, a pragmatic solution is to convert content among the existing formats. BabeLO is a programming exercise converter providing services to a network of heterogeneous e-learning systems such as contest management systems, programming exercise authoring tools, evaluation engines and repositories of learning objects. Its main feature is the use of a pivotal format to achieve greater extensibility. This approach simplifies the extension to other formats, just requiring the conversion to and from the pivotal format. This paper starts with an analysis of programming exercise formats representative of the existing diversity. This analysis sets the context for the proposed approach to exercise conversion and to the description of the pivotal data format. The abstract service definition is the basis for the design of BabeLO, its components and web service interface. This paper includes a report on the use of BabeLO in two concrete scenarios: to relocate exercises to a different repository, and to use an evaluation engine in a network of heterogeneous systems.
