Abstract(s)

Quadricep tears occur frequently in sports like football where there is running and kicking movements leading one to be vulnerable to injury. To describe the diferences in the assessment methods and the rehabilitation results throughout 4 months and the return to competition in 3 football palyers after rectus femoris injuries. Report of 3 cases of rectus femoris tears classified using the Bristish Athletics Muscle Injury Classification. Use of isokinetic and dynamometer for strength assessment, Visual Numerical Scale for pain and GPS for external load measurement. Treatment composed of antalgic methods, strength training and pitch rehabilitation. Subjects were able to return to team activities in 69,29 and 26 days respectively without pain and with equal or superiors strength values from the baseline. Although all 3 players suffered na injury in the same muscle, the diferences in location and specific structures after the treatment duration and the return to team activities. The use of this scale may allow the physiotherapists a clearer visiono n the specific required care throughout the rehabilitation process and the expected timelines to return competition.
