Abstract(s)
Nos últimos anos temos assistido a uma mudança do papel que é
considerado ser o da escola, em particular o da escola pública. Das escolas
espera-se o cumprimento das novas orientações centrais e também a sua
responsabilização na procura das soluções mais eficazes para o seu
desempenho, tendo sido notória uma crescente pressão sobre estas
organizações educativas relativamente aos resultados escolares obtidos.
Neste estudo, procuramos analisar o impacto dessa pressão a que as
escolas são sujeitas, no que concerne aos resultados escolares, procurando
refletir sobre as respostas possíveis, pensando sempre a Escola como um
lugar onde se prepare academicamente os alunos mas que também os forme
enquanto futuros cidadãos, que desejamos capazes de exercer uma cidadania
ativa e critica.
Centrando o estudo de caso numa escola do Grande Porto, procuramos
perceber como percepcionam os professores esta pressão e, que alterações
daí decorrem na dinâmica/organização escolar, utilizando a técnica de
inquérito por focus group, a lideranças intermédias, e questionário, a todos os
docentes, bem como a técnica de análise documental, às atas de órgãos de
coordenação e supervisão.
Por fim foi elaborado um Plano de ação que visou delinear estratégias que
ajudem no desenvolvimento de melhores aprendizagens e, portanto,
promovam o sucesso dos alunos bem como a qualidade desse sucesso.
In recent years we have witnessed a change in the role of what school is considered to be, in particular the State School. Schools are expected to comply with the new central guidelines and with the responsibility in finding the most effective solutions for their performance. The increasing pressure on these educational organizations for school results is evident. In this study, we have analyzed the impact of the pressure to which schools are subject, with regard to school results, seeking to reflect on possible responses, always considering the school as a place to academically prepare students and also educate future citizens who want to be engaged in an active citizenship. Centering the case study in a school of Oporto, we seek to understand how the teachers’ perception of this pressure and the changes resulting therefrom affect the dynamic of the school organization , by using the survey technique of focus group, the intermediate leaderships, questionnaires to all teachers, document analysis technique, coordination and supervision proceedings . Finally an Action Plan was elaborated. This Plan aimed at outlining strategies to help in the development of better learning and thus promoting the success of students and the quality of that success.
