Abstract(s)
Este projeto investiga o figurino enquanto meio expressivo e político, capaz de dar corpo a narrativas silenciadas e emoções ocultas. Através da criação de dois projetos distintos, MEDeUSA e A Era da Surdez, explora-se o potencial da materialidade têxtil, da reutilização e da desconstrução como instrumentos de afirmação estética e simbólica.
Em MEDeUSA, revisita-se a figura mitológica de Medusa como metáfora de resistência íntima e de transformação, construída a partir de resíduos, camadas e texturas que evocam cicatrizes, libertação e memória. Já em A Era da Surdez, o contexto distópico da proibição da música gera uma resposta coletiva, na qual, o figurino atua como extensão de um grito partilhado, vibrante, cru e urgente.
Na partilha de uma linguagem visual marcada pela imperfeição, fragmento e suspensão, a recusa aos padrões normativos propõe outras formas de escuta e presença. Entre o simbólico e o sensível, o figurino revela-se aqui como gesto poético de resistência e reinvenção.
This project investigates costume design as an expressive and political medium, capable of giving form to silenced narratives and hidden emotions. Through the creation of two distinct projects, MEDeUSA and A Era da Surdez, it explores the potential of textile materiality, reuse, and deconstruction as instruments of aesthetic and symbolic affirmation. In MEDeUSA, the mythological figure of Medusa is revisited as a metaphor for intimate resistance and transformation, constructed from waste, layers, and textures that evoke scars, liberation, and memory. In A Era da Surdez, the dystopian context of a ban on music generates a collective response, in which costume acts as an extension of a shared cry, raw, vibrant, and urgent. Through a visual language marked by imperfection, fragmentation, and suspension, the rejection of normative standards proposes new forms of listening and presence. Between the symbolic and the sensorial, costume emerges here as a poetic gesture of resistance and reinvention.
