- Is there still space for pedagogical and technical-scientific creativity in higher education in health technologies?Publication . Tavares, Diana; Mota, Sandra; Amorim, ManuelaAfter pandemic period, it is urgent to create a facilitating means of internal cogitation and to identify creative strategies that can overcome the less positive aspects of distance learning. There is an increasingly constant problem - the lack of motivation and identity in the academic-scientific environment with a lack of proactivity and resistance of interaction with others. It is necessary to work with traditional teaching-learning methodologies and create out of the box grafts that are attractive and productive. This year we will implemented a set of strategies: clinical cases, health literacy training sessions, cultural tools, escape room and others. We will carry out a diagnostic assessment of knowledge, before and after the intervention; as well as an interview that will allow us to understand the personal evolution and the degree of satisfaction. In this phase, the intention is to share the methodological strategies in a constructive and enriching manner.

Oliveira, Diana Silva; Válega, Inês de Carvalho da Silva; Vale, Gonçalo Luís de Albuquerque e; Azevedo, Catarina Silva; Lourenço, Inês de Melo; Lamas, Maria Céu; Mota, Sandra; Amorim, ManuelaIn health, the society empowerment is associated with increased levels of health literacy. Through more and better knowledge and skills, individuals can make decisions on health care, appropriate behaviours to prevent disease and promote health, improving health indicators. We developed a community intervention about Preventive Medicine (PM) aiming to inform and raise awareness about the importance of lifestyle and vaccination on their health, as well as on their babies. With the aim of transmitting the information in a clear and appealing way we used a PowerPoint in online format. It was created two questionnaires to use during the meeting: one before the presentation and another after, to assess the influence of the Webinar on the target audience’s opinion about PM. Most participants do not have a well-defined opinion about the importance of PM. However, after, it was found that they were more enlightened, being able to demystify some doubts and fears associated with the subject, particularly vaccination.
- The power of the invisible beings: activities to raise awareness within children communitiesPublication . Lopes, Maria Inês Dias; Oliveira, Ana Catarina Caetano; Pinho, Catarina Vaz; Carvalho, Tiago Monteiro; Lamas, Maria Céu; Mota, Sandra; Amorim, ManuelaHealth promotion and education is especially important during childhood. Considering that children know the main hygiene care, but do not always have information regarding their importance, an intervention on this theme was carried out with a group of 10 children with an average age of 8 years, which aimed to motivate participants to perform hygiene acts. The activity was based on three sequential steps: introduction of fundamental concepts; exploration of the main groups of microorganisms and diseases; multiple choice games and crossword puzzles. During the session, attention and interest in the contents were notable, through the participation of the children. In the games, they demonstrated an excellent responsiveness and willingness to interact with all players. This intervention addressing various teaching-learning methodologies proved to be enriching and allowed the acquired transversal and specific skills to be acquired in several areas.
