Abstract(s)
This Supervised Teaching Practice Report contains all the activities carried out at Conservatório de Música do Porto during the academic year 2023/2024, within the scope of the Master's Degree in Music Teaching at Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo do Porto and Escola Superior de Educação. The work is divided into three chapters, first of which is a characterization of the surrounding environment and a historical, social and physical framework of the educational institution in which the internship was carried out, presenting it´s educational offer, mission, principles and values of the Conservatory, as well as Educational Projects. In the second chapter, Supervised Teaching Practice was described, presenting the evaluation criteria and programmatic contents of the horn subjects and ensemble classes, as well as their activity plans, characterization of the students and groups involved and reporting on the observed and supervised classes. In the third, and last chapter, the Research Project is presented: “The influence of Aikido practice on horn teaching”, influenced by the pedagogy used by teacher Bohdan Sebestik in horn classes. An interview was carried out with the teacher to learn about and understand how and in what way this martial art began to be part of his personal and, later, professional life. In addition, a questionnaire survey was also carried out with 10 former students with the aim of understanding whether this pedagogy had an impact and influence throughout their musical career as students and, later, as teachers. The result combines in a sharing of experiences and opinions that will serve as a foundation for this work and, at no point, in an assessment of the reliability of this pedagogy.
