No paradigma educacional e vocacional de canto em Portugal existe uma grande lacuna em termos de oferta formativa; esta encontra-se centrada no canto lírico em detrimento de outros géneros que por si apontam novas abordagens das quais o canto lírico poderá vir a beneficiar. É partir da necessidade de colmatar esta lacuna que se desenvolveu o seguinte projeto.
Este pretende propôs-se a criar um método de ensino de canto que sirva de complemento aos métodos já existentes, cujo foco será trabalhar a expressividade musical e por consequência a expressividade emocional. O método serve-se do "Acting Through Song" retirado da prática do teatro musical para trabalhar a expressão musical através do storytelling. Este método pretende utilizar músicas que constem não só no repertório de teatro musical como também ao de clássico e ao de pop/rock permitindo assim que vários alunos de diferentes backgrounds e de diferentes interesses musicais o possam utilizar em conjunto com outro método, tendo em conta a expressão musical que é tranversal a todos os géneros.
In the educational and vocational singing paradigm in Portugal, there is a big gap in terms of training provision; it is centred on lyrical singing, to the detriment of others genres which in themselves point to innovative approaches from which lyrical singing could benefit. The following project was developed out of the need to fill this gap. The aim is to create a singing teaching method that complements existing methods, focussing on musical expressiveness and, consequently, emotional expressiveness. The method uses 'Acting Through Song', taken from the practice of musical theatre, to work on musical expression through storytelling. This method aims to use songs that are not only in the musical theatre repertoire but also in the classical and pop/rock repertoires, so that several students from different backgrounds and with different musical interests can use it in conjunction with another metod, considering the musical expression that is transversal to all genres. This project seeks to respond to a pedagogical need in the Portuguese context by using 'Acting Through Song' and musical theatre as a tool for vocational singing teaching.
