Abstract(s)
This report describes the overall activities developed in Conservatório de Música do Porto, during the academic year 2017/2018, regarding the educational practices on instrument teaching – Clarinet. The search for works which enabled high school students to acquire knowledge of a wider repertoire was a crucial point which made me develop this Research Project. This work is divided into three chapters: the first one, makes the description of Oporto’s Conservatory of Music Institution and describes the observations of classes, as well as the general reflection of this process; the second chapter, is about the Supervised Teaching Practice, and includes notes of the classes thaught by me, and the respective planning; the third is about the Research Project itself. This research work is meant to show that works of great Argentinian composers are also an asset to the learning and development of a wider repertoire for students who are attending high school. The composers chosen were Carlos Guastavino, Alberto Ginastera and Astor Piazzolla and the works presented in this study are: Variaciones Concertantes, op.23 (1953),Tonada y Cueca (1965) e Six Etudes tanguistiques pour flûte seule – Étude no. 3 (1987). The methodology used in this work followed a qualitative model, through the delimitation of the subject of study presented in the primary sources (works of Argentinian composers mentioned). After a brief analysis of elements of musical and interpretative content, there was a comparative study of these works with various types of tones and formations, always including the clarinet in a soloist role. The results of the research showed evidence of the benefits of the study of these composers for high school students.
