Abstract(s)
Institutional self-evaluation is a process of reflection through the participation of the academic community, coordinated autonomously by the Institutional Evaluation Committee. Established by Law no. 10.861/2004, SINAES aims to guide institutional management in consolidating good practices and correcting problems, positively impacting teaching, research and extension, strengthening the quality and efficiency of Higher Education Institutions. With this in mind, the main objective of this study is to analyze the influence of institutional self-assessment as a guiding action for strategic planning at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Mato Grosso (IFMT). The investigation seeks to identify whether institutional self-assessment is a guiding instrument for IFMT's management, and the extent to which it affects its strategic planning and decision-making. In order to achieve this objective, the methodology used was exploratory, and the purpose of the research was bibliometric and documentary. As for the methodological approach, it was mixed, combining qualitative and quantitative research, with the application of a structured closed questionnaire to the institution's civil servants. The analysis of the results showed that institutional self-assessment is seen as an important instrument for strategic planning, recognizing its relevance for short, medium and long-term institutional results. However, the actions of managers only partially meet expectations regarding the design of the Institutional Development Plan and the findings of the self-assessment report. The research had limitations in terms of sample size and difficulties in conducting interviews, which impacted the qualitative analysis. As it proposes an institutional self-assessment framework for the IFMT, aligned with strategic planning, with the aim of generating robust indicators for benchmarking and greater efficiency. The results aim to support strategic decisions and adjustments in planning, contributing to more effective interventions in the actions of the directorates and pro-rectorates.
