Abstract(s)
The thesis analyzes the mission of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Triângulo Mineiro/Uberlândia Campus by means of the programs of the Coordination of Student Assistance to indicate the benefits that transfer to the student, granting their attendance and improving the education. This thesis is a proposal for and a discussion about the concept of citizenship as described in the mission statement of Federal Institutes, specifically of Uberlândia Campus. In the current Brazilian context, the work presents the model of the neoliberal capitalism, which promotes a fragmented education of knowledge, harmful to the natural world and devoid of improvement of social life. Our goal is to overcome the model of the neoliberal capitalism. In this sense, we discuss another possible way of life inside the neoliberal model in which it is not allowed to think and live without the conception of meritocracy. This conception, under the auspices of the neoliberalism, promotes a discourse of efficacy and quality as the only model for achieving social ascension.
