Abstract(s)
O acolhimento residencial é uma resposta de colocação extrafamiliar que visa assegurar a proteção das crianças e jovens, promovendo o seu bem-estar e desenvolvimento integral. Assim, esta medida deverá oferecer à criança ou jovem um ambiente protegido onde a mesma possa adquirir e/ ou desenvolver competências de forma a lidarem com os vários desafios desenvolvimentais. Este percurso é feito junto de adultos que se assumem como figuras significativas na vida destes jovens, que, muitas vezes, colmatam uma grande carência emocional e afetiva sentida pelos mesmos. O acolhimento residencial é, pois, um espaço de aprendizagem, responsabilização, identificação e de afirmação
pessoal. Não obstante, o acolhimento residencial poderá acarretar vários desafios, existindo sempre espaço para a reflexão e para o avanço.
Este relatório constitui-se como um olhar reflexivo sobre o projeto de investigação-ação participativa "(Re)significar", que procurou alterar as práticas institucionais por forma a
investir em ações que valorizem as jovens em acolhimento, de modo a promover a sua participação e empoderamento. Para tal, foram desenvolvidas duas ações: "(Re)pensar" e "(Re)descobrir". Uma primeira ação teve como objetivo criar espaço para que os profissionais pudessem refletir sobre si próprios e o trabalho que se encontram a desenvolver, bem como, repensar algumas das práticas da instituição. Já a segunda ação, dirigida especificamente a uma das jovens da casa de acolhimento, visou envolvê-la numa relação que se pretendeu transformadora e transformativa, acompanhando-a e partilhando com ela todos os seus medos, receios, desejos e sonhos. Deste projeto resultaram algumas mudanças, principalmente na vida da jovem.
Residential care is an extra-family placement response that aims to ensure the protection of children and young people, promoting their well-being and integral development. Thus, this measure should offer the child or young person a protected environment where they can acquire and/or develop skills in arder to deal with the various developmental challenges. This journey is made with adults who assume themselves as significant figures in the lives of these young people, who often fill a great emotional and affective need felt by them. Residential care is, therefore, a space for learning, taking responsibility, identification and personal affirmation. However, residential care may entail several challenges, and there is always roam for reflection and progress. This report constitutes a reflective look at the participatory action-research project "(Re)signify" that sought to change institutional practices in arder to invest in actions that value young people in foster care, in arder to promote their participation and empowerment. To this end, two actions were developed: "(Re)think" and "(Re)discover". A first action aimed to create space for professionals to reflect on themselves and the work they are developing, as well as to rethink some of the institution's practices. The second action, aimed specifically atone of the young women in the shelter, aimed to involve her in a relationship that was intended to be transformative and transformative, accompanying her and sharing with her all her fears, apprehensions, desires and dreams. This project resulted in some changes, mainly in the life of this young woman.
