Este ensaio divide-se em duas partes fundamentais: a análise à criação e concepção do filme Message e a crítica teórica a factores relevantes à criação documental, com especial relevo ao trabalho com comunidades e grupos de risco. O filme Message, criado no contexto do Mestrado de Comunicação Audiovisual, filmado no Reino Unido em associação com várias instituições, procura ser um objecto artístico singular que promove o trabalho social e que cimenta uma relação entre a música e imagem audiovisual. Este ensaio teórico resultante desse trabalho prático apresenta questões especificas a este tipo de produção além de procurar esclarecer as diferenças entre os conceitos verdade e realidade, elementos que considero fundamentais na formação de um realizador documental.
This essay divides itself in two fundamental parts: analyse the creation and conception of the film Message and make a theoretical analyses of the relevant factors to the documental creation, with a focus on community work. The film Message, made in the context of the MA in Audiovisual Communication, shot in the United Kingdom in association with various institutions, aims to be a singular artistic object that promotes social work and deepens the relation between music and audiovisual image. This essay is the result of that practical work and presents specific questions to this kind of production besides aiming to clear the differences between the concepts of truth and reality, fundamental elements in the education of a documentary filmmaker.
