Abstract(s)
This work is part of the Master in Performing Arts Project modality, Specialization in Costume Design. It is a project that aims to explore in an artisanal way a natural and ecological material in a circular life ā Texticel. This product, the Scooby, is a Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast that grows from the fermentation of Kombucha in a solution of tea, vinegar, and sugar that once dehydrated becomes a commonly called vegan leather. The main focus of the present study is the presence of this material in the production of bio fabric, a biological and recyclable solution to replace other highly polluting materials traditionally used in the textile industry. Thus, I present the entire handmade production process of Texticel developed, in tests, reactions, and manipulations in order to and develop the plasticity and possibilities of this material. This is a project that brings together three aspects: laboratory research; the report on the method, the tools, and the experiments carried out as a result. And, at last, an exhibition that presents the conclusions obtained and the objects achieved.
