Abstract(s)
(Erneste & Young) e a KPMG.
Tendo isto
Globalisation has been important to the companies that dominate the auditing and consulting business worldwide. These companies are the big four, which includes, Deloitte, PwC (PricewaterhouseCoopers), EY (Erneste & Young) and KPMG. Meanwhile, other companies are trying to gain more ground, including Crowe, which is placed in the top 10 in the ranking of consultancy firms and has offices in Portugal as Crowe Portugal. Communication and maketing, without undermining the importance of other factors, play na important role in positioning companies in the global marketplace. Considering this, it is impossible to disregard the importance of the quality of internal and external communicating and marketing. This report, prepared as the final assessment for obtaining a Master’s degree in Specialised Translation and Interpreting, covers the projects carried out during the internship at Crowe Portugal with the main objective of improving the quality of the company’s communication. Most of the projects carried out involved editing, proofreading and localisation. There were also translations from Portuguese to English, and from Portuguese to Spanish. Towards the end of the intership, a survey was conducted with the goal of understanding the importance given by consumers to the aesthetic and textual quality of a website, thus justifying the optimisation of the content displayed by a company. This report includes the survey in its entirety, from draft to conclusions. This paper portrays the experience of a trainee translator in a top consulting firm and explores, through feedback from clients and partners, and also from the conclusions drawn fomr the inquiry, the impact that linguistic quality can have in this context.
