Abstract(s)
The present reflective report aims to attest the work carried out within the context of the internship that is part of the Master Degree in Music Education (Instrument – piano) from Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo and includes a brief investigation project as well, which is focused on the exploration of the study methods by Alfred Cortot and Monique Deschaussées for the first six of F. Chopin’s Études op. 10. The first chapter contextualizes the activities. The second summarizes the supervised educational practice, namely lesson observation and lesson teaching, and comprises the relevant documentation. The third and last one is concerned with the investigation project in question. Through a content analysis approach, a comparative study of the technical and interpretative perspectives of two relevant pianists of the 20th century was devised, intending to go into detail on the issues of pianistic dexterity of one of the major works of the piano repertoire and thus contributing to an informed pedagogy.
