Abstract(s)
The problem of education in Brazil has been a cause of concern for many researchers due to the level of inequality that has been achieved throughout their development path, which excluded a large part of the population from the classroom. Thus, there are a number of people out of school, which reverberates in the need to create specific education programs that meet different student profiles and at various levels of verticality. Atlas Brasil 2013 (Pnud/Ipea) showed that in 2010, only approximately 55% of people aged 18 or over had completed elementary school. It was with the purpose of acting for this public that the National Program of Youth and Adult Integration (Proeja) was created, with the support of the Professional and Technological Education Network. Thus, the present study deals with the theme of professionalization related to Youth and Adult Education (EJA) and intends to analyze the motivational factors and impacts on the personal life and the professional formation of the students of the Integrated Technical Course in Kitchen of the Instituto Federal de Goiás - Campus Goiânia. The research design will have Exploratory Research method assisted by the empirical method. The data collection was done through questionnaires applied to the students of the Integrated Technical Course in Kitchen Campus Goiânia (IFG), as well as to the course coordinator. The theoretical contribution was accomplished through a survey and the study of articles, books and documents that deal with youth and adult education, the history of formation of the Federal Institutes and themes related to motivation. At the end, the data collected from the student body of the mentioned course, which is the target of this study, and its Coordinator are analyzed. The research revealed that despite the problems involving the students in the Youth and Adult Education modality, they see in this formation an opportunity to progress in the professional and personal life, because it is a prestigious institution. The Course Coordination recognizes that much is needed to improve the conditions of its operationalization and that it seeks, together with the managers, measures to overcome the difficulties encountered. This research presents improvement suggestions to be taken into consideration.
