Abstract(s)
With the 2022/2023 academic year concluded, here we are once again compiling the work carried out by the students of the Master's Degree in Civil Engineering at ISEP, within the scope of the curricular unit of dissertation or Project or Internship (DIPRE). Based on the curricular structure of the cycle of studies leading to the master's degree, within the scope of the study plan of the Master's Degree in Civil Engineering of ISEP (MEC), the training process of students integrates a curricular unit of Dissertation or Project or Internship (DIPRE) that takes place in the 4th academic semester. In the DIPRE curricular unit, students develop a dissertation of a scientific nature or a project work, which must be original and specially carried out for this purpose, or an internship report of a curricular nature that takes place in a business environment. In this context, the proposed topics comprise the following areas of specialization in Civil Engineering: constructions, structures, infrastructures and construction management. With the aim of allowing students to demonstrate the knowledge and comprehension skills learned throughout the study cycle, the topics that are the subject of dissertations, projects or internship reports constitute the basis for the development of original applications in the context of experimental research. They promote the search for information, the analysis of new situations, the development of methodologies and techniques for approaching problems, the collection of data and the crossing and interpretation of them, the systematization of conclusions and the establishment of future perspectives. With the work developed in DIPRE, students show their ability to understand and solve problems in new situations and in broad and multidisciplinary contexts, even if related to their areas of study. They also demonstrate the ability to integrate knowledge, deal with complex issues, develop solutions or make judgments in situations of limited or incomplete information, including reflections on the ethical and social implications and responsibilities that result from these solutions and judgments. All of this translates into skills that enable lifelong learning in a fundamentally self-directed or autonomous way. This document compiles the work carried out within the scope of MEC's DIPRE curricular unit, referring to dissertations, projects and internship reports developed in the 2022-2023 academic year, in the areas of specialization of constructions, structures and construction management. In total, 21 works were carried out, involving 21 students, 36 faculty advisors/co-supervisors and 8 supervisors from the companies. The work in a business environment had the collaboration of the following companies/institutions: Telhabel – Constructions, Omatapalo – Engineering and Construction, CIVI4 – Designers and Civil Engineering Consultants, NCREP – Consultancy in Rehabilitation of Buildings and Heritage, Eleven Steps – Engineering Consultants and CCAD – Engineering Services, to which the MEC management thanks for all the availability shown in the reception and integration of its students.
