| dc.description.abstract | O desfralde é um processo inerente ao crescimento, sendo um marco muito importante do desenvolvimento infantil. Em Portugal, o acesso à creche tem vindo a aumentar, com cada vez mais crianças a terem oportunidade de aceder a estas instituições a partir dos 4 meses, sendo expectável que os(as) educadores(as) tenham um papel importante em todos os processos do desenvolvimento infantil, incluindo o desfralde. Assim, este estudo pretende investigar, em profundidade, através de entrevistas semiestruturadas, a perceção de oito educadores(as) em contexto de creche em relação ao processo de desfralde das crianças. Foram apresentadas 4 categorias e 6 subcategorias. A análise de conteúdo das entrevistas evidenciou vários receios dos(as) educadores(as) em relação ao desfralde. Verificou-se que os(as) educadores(as) não têm formação de base neste tema, apresentando dificuldades em orientar hábitos urinários e defecatórios saudáveis, fundamentando a necessidade de informar e capacitar estes profissionais de modo a fomentar a prática de comportamentos e hábitos saudáveis na primeira infância, em contexto de creche | por |
| dc.description.abstract | Toilet training is an inherent part of growth and represents a significant milestone in child development. In Portugal, access to daycare has been increasing, with more and more children having the opportunity to attend these institutions from the age of four months. As a result, it is expected that early childhood educators play an important role in all aspects of child development, including toilet training. This study therefore aims to investigate, in depth, through semi-structured interviews, the perceptions of eight educators working in daycare settings regarding the toilet training process of young children. Four categories and six subcategories were identified. Content analysis of the interviews revealed several concerns among educators regarding toilet training. The findings showed that educators lack formal training in this area and experience difficulties in guiding the development of healthy urinary and bowel habits. These results underscore the need to inform and empower these professionals in order to promote the adoption of healthy behaviours and habits during early childhood in daycare settings. | eng |
