O presente relatório de estágio foi elaborado no âmbito do Mestrado em Ensino da Música, da Escola Superior de Música e Artes do Espetáculo (ESMAE) e Escola Superior de Educação (ESE) – Instituto Politécnico do Porto (IPP). Este trabalho de investigação tem por objetivo analisar e evidenciar a relevância do transpositor enquanto elemento de aperfeiçoamento técnico no processo de aprendizagem do trombone. As estratégias desenvolvidas no decurso do estágio tiveram por princípio a demonstração das potencialidades do mecanismo estudado, junto dos alunos participantes no projeto, a fim de expor os benefícios do seu uso, de modo a alcançar uma maior destreza técnica, afinação e produção sonora. A revisão de literatura evidencia que, embora existam estudos e publicações dedicados ao trombone baixo e ao uso dos rotores — centrados sobretudo em aspetos técnicos e performativos (Lisboa, 2022; Thomas, 2015; Yeo, 2015) —, bem como métodos e materiais didáticos que abordam o emprego dos transpositores de forma prática (Bollinger, 2007; Reynolds, 2013; Raph, 1969), não foram identificados estudos que analisem de modo sistemático a aplicação pedagógica do F-attachment no processo de aprendizagem do trombone tenor.
This internship report was prepared within the scope of the Master’s Degree in Music Education at the School of Music and Performing Arts (ESMAE) and the School of Education (ESE) – Polytechnic Institute of Porto (IPP). The aim of this research is to analyse and highlight the relevance of the valve attachment as an element of technical improvement in the trombone learning process. The strategies developed during the internship were based on demonstrating the potential of the mechanism under study to the students involved in the project, with the goal of showcasing the benefits of its use in achieving greater technical agility, intonation, and sound production. The literature review shows that, although there are studies and publications dedicated to the bass trombone and the use of rotor valves—mostly focused on technical and performance aspects (Lisboa, 2022; Thomas, 2015; Yeo, 2015)—as well as methods and pedagogical materials addressing the practical use of valve attachments (Bollinger, 2007; Reynolds, 2013; Raph, 1969), no studies were identified that systematically examine the pedagogical application of the F-attachment in the tenor trombone learning process.
