Abstract(s)
Desde cedo, a tradução foi vista, mesmo que inconscientemente, como uma
actividade de importância cultural, resultante da totalidade de práticas, experiências e
discursos de diferentes grupos sociais que ela engloba em si própria, pois é pela
(para)tradução que uma cultura, i.e., o Outro, se dá a conhecer. Esta missão da
(para)tradução é de grande importância para o desenvolvimento do conhecimento e para o
estabelecimento de pontes entre culturas que permitam o avanço da História, de modo a
podermos repensar a transformação social, cuja necessidade a presente crise mundial veio
tornar ainda mais premente.
From early on, translation has been seen, even if unconsciously, as an activity of cultural importance, resulting from the totality of the practices, experiences and discourses of different social groups, that translation encompasses in itself, since it is through (para)translation that we get to know a culture, i.e., the Other. This mission of (para)translation is of great importance to the development of knowledge, establishing bridges between cultures that may lead to the further development of History, so that we can rethink the social transformation, that urges in the context of the present world crisis.
