dc.description.abstract | After Covid-19 infection, several symptoms persist, such as reduced lung function, fatigue, poor functional capacity, and emotional problems. It has become increasingly evident that some patients need to be part of a Rehabilitation program. Aim(s): To analyze the influence of a 12-week exercise training (ET) program on the functional capacity, dyspnea, fatigue and quality of life in post-Covid-19 patients. Methods: This is a case series of 10 post-Covid-19 adult patients who demonstrated the need to be part of an ET program. Instruments such as mMRC, CAT, PCFS, WHOQOL-Bref, HADS and 1STST were used to assess the effectiveness of the ET program, applied in a controlled clinical context. Results: Seven out of ten cases had a final mMRC score lower than the initial one. The final CAT and HADS score decreased in all cases. All cases decreased the grade on PCFS, with 50% ending up with no functional limitations. There was an increase in quality of life in all cases and the number of repetitions on 1STST increased in most of cases. An improvement in HR recovery was observed in 90% of cases. Overall, there was an increase in the metabolic load, being more important on the treadmill. Conclusion: The cases presented highlighted the benefits of an integration into a ET program in post-Covid-19 patients, to reduce or eliminate the multidimensional complications caused by SARS-CoV-2, demonstrating a positive effect on functional capacity, dyspnea, fatigue and quality of life. | pt_PT |
