Abstract(s)
This research was born out of a concern: how can the visual identity of a performing arts festival genuinely reflect the body, gesture and movement that give it life? Throughout this project, we sought to answer this question by developing a graphic identity proposal for Circular - Festival of Performing Arts, where typography takes centre stage as a living, expressive and constantly changing form. More than a technical and design exercise, this work came from a deep desire to bring visual communication closer to the essence of the festival, using movement as a language. Experimental typography emerges here as a meeting point between design and performance. Inspired by human anatomy and classical proportions, but challenging the traditional limits of the letter, this approach aims to create a more direct and sensitive connection with the audience. The process involved solid theoretical research, the study of visual and historical references, and a practical component where experimentation and reformulation took place. The resulting visual identity was designed to adapt to different formats, always maintaining a coherent expressive core: the body as a measure, the letter as a gesture, design as an extension of movement. More than communicating an event, this proposal seeks to translate its essence. In this work, we believe that design can - and should - get closer to the human experience. And it is in this space of encounter between form and emotion that this visual identity finds its place.
