Salienta-se a importância da tradução na obra de Luiza Neto Jorge entre os anos 60 e 90 do século XX. As suas traduções de poesia, romance, cinema e teatro são consideradas notáveis. Traduz numerosas obras de autores clássicos e românticos e, sobretudo, de surrealistas franceses como Breton, Aragon, Eluard ou Artaud. Da sua arte de esculpir a palavra resulta uma verdadeira transfiguração poética dos textos traduzidos.
