Abstract(s)

Starting from the observation of three students of the Jobra Music Conservatory and applying an action-research methodology, we collected fundamentals related to the subject, intending to find solutions to answer the questions raised, alluding to how the harmonic and rhythmic elements who are present in the performance of jazz double bass lines are related. Through the experience gathered as teachers, as well as the observation and reflection on the difficulties that the students present when developing competences related to the function of the double bass, as instrument of accompaniment, it is intended to provide a didactic contribution to the teaching of jazz, that meets the needs of the students of the Specialized Music Teaching, focusing on the methodological possibilities for learning to build jazz double bass lines and aiming to collect and compile the most useful exercises for the development of the theme of this work.
