Abstract(s)
O presente trabalho, de âmbito profissional, foi elaborado para ser submetido a provas públicas, com vista à
obtenção do Título de Especialista em Línguas e Culturas (Línguas e Literaturas Estrangeiras).
Nesse sentido, e de forma a permitir uma melhor contextualização da temática em análise neste trabalho foi
realizado um enquadramento teórico que abordou a classificação do texto técnico/especialidade, assim
como o tipo de informação e o nível de especialidade que podem conter.
Foiigualmente destacada a linguagem de especialidade na escrita técnica, com enfoque na redação de textos
técnicos (manuais), passando depois pelo papel da terminologia e pelo estilo.
De seguida, foi realizada uma abordagem pelos desafios de tradução, adaptação e de localização que um
texto técnico implica.
Para finalizar o enquadramento teórico, foi feita uma incursão sobre o desenho da informação nos manuais.
Após o enquadramento teórico, o trabalho concentra-se na abordagem ao trabalho profissional propriamente
dito, fazendo uma análise dos manuais desenvolvidos no âmbito do PAOL-GAIE. Essa análise pressupôs uma
abordagem prévia a tecnologia específica abordada no manual, focando-se depois no manual mais
concretamente e nas suas características. No total, foram abordados quatro manuais que se pretendiam
como uma amostra representativa do global de manuais desenvolvidos.
Por fim, o trabalho foi finalizado com uma explanação sobre a aplicabilidade do trabalho de especialista no
desempenho das funções como docente, sendo concluído com as reflexões finais sobre o trabalho.
The present work has a professional scope and was designed to be submitted to public assessment, to obtain the title of Specialist in Languages and Cultures (Languages and Foreign Literature). In this sense, and in order to allow a better understanding of the theme under analysis, a theoretical background was carried out that addressed the classification of the technical texts, as well as the type of information and the level of specialty that they may contain. Language for specific purposes in technical writing was also highlighted, focusing on the writing of technical texts (manuals) and addressing the role of terminology and style. Then, it was made an approach to the challenges of translation, adaptation and localization that a technical text implies. To finalize the theoretical framework it was done an approach to the design information of a manual. After the theoretical framework, this work is concentrated on the professional work itself, making an analysis of the manuals developed within the scope of PAOL-GAIE. This analysis implied a previous approach to the specific technologies that were addressed in each one of the manuals, focusing later on the manual and its characteristics. In total, four manuals were presented which were intended as a representative sample of the total number of manuals developed. Finally, this work was completed with an explanation of its applicability to my duties as a teacher, and concluded with the final reflections about what was done.
