Abstract(s)
The existence of reinforced concrete buildings with serious and very serious anomalies has worried the owners and the technical community for some time. In this way, it is essential to inspect the state of conservation of these structures. Only then can adequate and effective corrective measures be defined. In this thesis, the main mechanisms that lead to the degradation of the reinforced concrete buildings are presented, as well as the causes for these occurrences, with the objective of creating a complete listing. The presentation is supported by elucidating images. The recommended practices for the inspection of reinforced concrete buildings and the tests that allow the determination of the true state of the materials are subsequently studied. The aim is to analyze the structure as a whole and define an intervention strategy. At the end, an evaluation of the conservation state of a building, adopted as a case do study, is made. In this context, the problems detected in this building are represented in maps of anomalies. The results of several diagnostic tests are correlated and a set of corrective arrangements for the building are suggested.
