Abstract(s)
Este relatório surge no contexto de um projeto interventivo centrado na facilitação da integração
de um grupo de jovens refugiados, provenientes do Afeganistão, com idades compreendidas entre os 16
e os 18 anos, acolhidos numa instituição no norte de Portugal, num apartamento de autonomização. O
projeto, conduzido sob a égide da metodologia de Investigação-Ação Participativa, visou responder
às necessidades específicas destes jovens, mediante o desenvolvimento de estratégias e ações que
promovessem não só a sua inserção no mercado de trabalho e no sistema educativo, mas também a
promoção do seu bem-estar.
O processo de acolhimento e integração de pessoas refugiadas, requer abordagens multifacetadas e
sensíveis às suas experiências individuais, com vista a promover um ambiente integrativo e
inclusivo, essencial para construir mudanças.
Deste modo, este projeto foi desenvolvido a partir de uma análise minuciosa das condições de vida e
das experiências destes jovens. Enfatiza a importância de criar relações, construir confiança,
adaptar-se a uma nova cultura, destacando a importância de práticas que respeitem e valorizem as
suas identidades, proporcionando um ambiente acolhedor e de compreensão. Cada ação foi moldada
pelas necessidades e problemas identificados pelos intervenientes, valorizando os seus percursos
individuais. Desta forma, foram desenvolvidas três ações: "Momento a momento: Desenvolvimento de
competências linguísticas e escolares"; "Rumo ao futuro: Horizontes de projetos de vida" e
"Caminhadas de saúde", que visaram promover a integração e adaptação dos jovens à nova realidade,
ajudando-os a superar barreiras linguísticas, culturais e emocionais, enquanto se construíam
caminhos de crescimento pessoal.
This report appears in the context of an intervention project focused on facilitating the integration of a group of young refugees, from Afghanistan, aged between 16 and 18, hosted in an institution in the north of Portugal, in a self-sufficient apartment. The project, conducted under the auspices of the Participatory Action Research methodology, aimed to respond to the specific needs of these young people, through the development of strategies and actions that promoted not only their insertion into the job market and the educational system, but also promoting theirwell-being. The process of welcoming and integrating refugees requires multifaceted approaches that are sensitive to their individual experiences, with a view to promoting an integrative and inclusive environment, essential for building change. Therefore, this project was developed based on a thorough analysis of the living conditions and experiences of these young people. lt emphasizes the importance of creating relationships, building trust, adapting to a new culture, highlighting the importance of practices that respect and value their identities, providing a welcoming and understanding environment. Each action was shaped by the needs and problems identified by the participants, valuing their individual journeys. ln this way, three actions were created: "Moment by moment: Development of language and school skills"; ''Towards the future: Horizons of life projects" and "Health walks", with a view to promoting their integration and adaptation of young people to the new reality, helping them to overcome linguistic, cultural and emotional barriers, while building paths of personal growth.
