Abstract(s)
This dissertation was prepared in the context of curricular unit of DIPRE (Dissertation/Project/Internship), which is the 2nd semester of the 2nd year of the master’s degree in Civil Engineering, in the construction field of the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto. New sealing facade systems, such as prefabricated panels in GRC, has been reaching relevance in the construction market to the growing awareness of the implementation of less aggressive methods to the environment and the need for rationalization of the work, which includes reducing time and costs. In Brazil, there is a great resistance to replace conventional method closing facades, made with masonry blocks. This resistance is due to low skilled labor supply and the lack of technical studies and standardizations of innovative systems, such as prefabricated panels in GRC. This work synthesizes knowledge about this method, seeking to clarify the stages of the design process, manufacturing and assembly of the panels. After exposure of the GRC properties, types of panels, forms of production, the design of a panel for a fictitious building was done, the latter held within the case study, it is concluded that the practice of this construction method can be very beneficial for the construction as a whole, reducing the load imposed on the structure, ensuring thermal and acoustic comfort of the building while reducing construction waste, feature provided by prefabrication.
