| dc.description.abstract | A presente monografia documenta o estudo desenvolvido durante o estágio na empresa Águas de Gaia, E.M., S.A. no âmbito do Mestrado em Engenharia Civil – Ramo de Infraestruturas do Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto. A realização deste estágio curricular, para além de permitir um contacto com o meio empresarial, teve como principal objetivo o desenvolvimento de um estudo associado com as afluências indevidas. Com a expansão a que os serviços de saneamento têm sido sujeitos estes caudais excedentários são, cada vez mais, um problema grave e por isso é necessário que se crie ferramentas de gestão para o combate a esta maleita. As afluências indevidas são uma das principais problemáticas associadas aos sistemas de drenagem, causando problemas estruturais, socioeconómicos e ambientais. Portanto, a minimização das afluências indevidas deve ser uma das prioridades das entidades gestoras. Isso conduziu à execução deste estudo. A Águas de Gaia, E.M., S.A. é responsável por mais de mil e duzentos quilómetros de rede de saneamento, incluindo coletores, caixas de visita e várias estações de bombagem. O diagnóstico deste tema é cada vez mais do seu maior interesse devido aos problemas anteriormente enumerados. O desenvolvimento deste trabalho teve como principal objetivo a quantificação das afluências indevidas ao sistema de drenagem de Crestuma, o sistema de menor extensão que a empresa detém, servindo de base para o desenvolvimento dos estudos associados aos restantes. No curso deste estudo, foram aplicados os métodos de quantificação de afluências indevidas mais apropriados aos dados disponibilizados pela Águas de Gaia. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | This monograph embodies the study developed during the internship in the company Águas de Gaia, E.M., S.A. in the context of the Master’s Degree on Civil Engineering of Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto. Besides the acquaintance to an entrepreneurial environment, the main goal of this internship was the output of a study on inflow and infiltration. With the expansion that sanitation services have been subjected throughout the recent years, this undesired flow increase is an increasingly acute problem, consequently management tools must be put in place to help minimize this matter. The inflow and infiltration is one of the main problems associated with sewer systems and exerts a considerable impact on it, from structural problems to socio-economic and environmental problems. Therefore, the minimization of inflow and infiltration must be one of the main concerns of the system’s management. The company, Águas de Gaia, E.M., S.A. is responsible for over twelve hundred kilometers of sewer system, including collectors, manholes e several pumping stations. The diagnosis of the inflow and infiltration situation is increasingly of their best interest due, to the issues mentioned before. This led to the elaboration of this study. This work development had as its main objective the preliminary definition of inflow and infiltration that affects the Crestuma’s sewer system, the smallest sewer system owned by the company. This study can be used as a reference to further studies about the remaining systems. Over the course of this study, the most appropriated methods to estimate/inflow and infiltration into sanitary sewers were selected and used, in line with the data provided by Águas de Gaia. | pt_PT |
