Abstract(s)
O Turismo é, na atualidade, determinante para o desenvolvimento económico de uma
região, devendo enquadrar os Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável
designadamente através da valorização do património e enquadramento da igualdade
social. Os ODS são fundamentais para o desenvolvimento turístico de forma a preservar
o ambiente, o cuidado e proteção das pessoas (comunidade local e visitantes).
A presente investigação pretende aferir de que forma o Município de Vila Nova de Gaia
aplica os ODS no turismo e se pratica uma responsabilidade social equilibrada de forma
a envolver a comunidade local e o setor. Através da ótica dos técnicos de turismo e outros
empresários será averiguado o impacte que o turismo tem a nível ambiental, social e
económico na Cidade de Vila Nova de Gaia
Com base nesta análise, o ponto de partida basear—se—á na revisão de literatura. Foram
aplicadas entrevistas semiestruturadas a técnicos de turismo e empresários que
trabalham na área do turismo, no Municipio de Gaia. É realizada uma análise do
conteúdo e os resultados serão discutidos finalizando com possíveis estratégias e
considerações propostas para investigações futuras. Observou—se que os ODS são
considerados no planeamento estratégico do Município de Gaia. Apesar de haver
algumas falhas no planeamento entre as entidades competentes, as boas práticas
sustentáveis continuam a ser implementadas. Entre as estratégias sugeridas, destaca—se
a criação de programas educacionais, pois é amplamente reconhecido que, com um
conhecimento mais aprofundado, os residentes, os turistas e os promotores podem
garantir ainda mais a adoção de práticas sustentáveis. Além disso, ficou claro que
envolver a comunidade local é essencial para o sucesso de qualquer estratégia em
desenvolvimento.
Tourism is currently a determining factor for the economic development of a region, and it must fit in with the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically by enhancing heritage and promoting social equality. The SDGs are fundamental to tourism development in order to preserve the environment and care for and protect people (local community and Visitors). The aim of this research is to find out how the Municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia applies the SDGs to tourism and whether it practices balanced social responsibility in order to involve the local community and tourism. From the perspective of tourism experts and other businesspeople, the impact that tourism has on the environment, socially and economically in the city of Vila Nova de Gaia will be ascertained Based on this analysis, the starting point will be the literature review that will serve as the basis for the research. Interviews were conducted with various tourism experts and businesspeople working in the tourism sector in the municipality of Gaia. A content analysis will be carried out and the results will be discussed, ending with possible strategies and considerations proposed for future research. It was noted that the SDGs are taken into account in the strategic planning of the Municipality of Gaia. Despite some gaps in planning between the relevant bodies, good sustainable practices continue to be implemented. Among the strategies suggested, the creation of educational programmes stands out, as it is widely recognised that with more in—depth knowledge, residents, tourists and developers can further guarantee the adoption of sustainable practices. In addition, it has become clear that involving the local community is essential to the success of any strategy under development.
