A avаliação institucional externa tem como referência os pаdrõees de
Quаlidade pаraa a educаçãoo superior expressos nos instrumentos de avаliação
e nos relаtórios. O processo de avаliação externa, independente de sua
abordаgem, orienta-se por uma visão multidimensionаl que busca integrаr
suаs nаturezas formativa e de regulаçãoo numa perspectiva de globаlidade.
Este trabalho tem como problema de pesquisa a seguinte questão: Como a
avaliação institucional externa pode influencir a gestão de uma instituição de
ensino superior, nomeadamente no que concerne à qualidade da educação?
O objetivo geral consistiu em analisar a influência e os impactos da avaliação
institucional externa numa instituição de ensino superior da cidаde de
Ueаa/MG. Emprega-se a pesquisa qualitativa como percurso metodológico
e os procedimentos adotados para o alcance do objetivo incluem revisão
bibliográfica e estudo de caso, mediante a realização de entrevista
semiestruturada aos Coordenadores de Cursos Superiores da instituição de
ensino. Com base nos dados recolhidos no estudo, notadamente nas
entrevistas efetuadas, foi possível verificar que a avaliação institucional
externa, apesar das fragilidades apontadas, tem constituído um motor para a
mudança, impulsionando a implementação de medidas e intervenções de
melhoria. Foi, ainda, possível inferir que a avliação institucional externa,
mesmo criando alguns momentos propícios à ação dos gestores para o
desenvolvimento e melhoria da instituição parece centrar-se mais em
aspectos da organização e gestão escolar e não tanto ao nível das práticas
pedagógicas e dos resultados escolares.
External institutional oversight is based on the qualities of quality for higher education expressed in valuation instruments and in reports. The process of external vulnerability, regardless of its approach, is guided by a multidimensional vision that seeks to integrate its formalizing and regulatory frameworks in a globalization perspective. This paper has as a research problem the following question: How can the external institutional evaluation influence the management of an institution of higher education, especially with regard to the quality of education? The general objective was to analyze the influence and impacts of the external institutional evaluation in an institution of higher education of the city of Uberaba / MG. Qualitative research is used as a methodological course and the procedures adopted to reach the objective include bibliographical review and case study, by means of a semi-structured interview with the Coordinators of Higher Education of the educational institution. Based on the data collected in the study, especially in the interviews, it was possible to verify that the external institutional evaluation, despite the fragilities pointed out, has been an engine for change, impelling the implementation of improvement measures and interventions. It was also possible to infer that external institutional promotion, even creating some moments conducive to managers' actions for the development and improvement of the institution, seems to focus more on aspects of school organization and management and not so much on pedagogical practices and school results.
