Abstract(s)

This lnternship Report (IR) is part of the Curricular Unit (CU) of Supervised Teaching Practice (STP), included in the syllabus of the Master's Degree in Teaching in the 1st Cycle of Basic Education (CEB) and Mathematics and Natural Sciences in the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education (CEB), and is presented as a passport for the journey to conquer a childhood dream: to become a teacher. The document grants the master's studentthe completion of a cycle, achieving a master's degree and, consequently, entering the world of teaching in the mentioned areas. lt includes a reflective and constructivist analysis, aiming to document the student's journey during the STP, based on theoretical and legal assumptions that guide teaching practice, as well as the scientific and pedagogical knowledge mobilized throughout this evolutionary journey. The IR also details some of the teaching paths developed over the course of the year and the respective reflections, providing a careful, criticai, and reflective look at teaching practice. This took place in two contexts: a primary school class anda secondary school class, each with its own particularities, necessitating careful observation and adaptation of strategies and methodologies to the needs and interests of the students. This adaptation and constant cooperation throughout the supervision cycle allowed the master's student to grow personally and professionally, as well as to start building her identity as a future teacher in continuous evolution. The research component, "Light that Transforms: Solar Oven and Desalination," is an integral part of this IR and was developed throughout this journey, based on its four pillars: observation, planning, action, and reflection. Believing in educational research as a toai for improving the quality of teaching, identifying, and solving problems, the master's student carried out practical work based on action research. This involved different phases, aiming to enhance Environmental Studies through innovative methodologies and resources such as the CTSA approach, Practical Work (TP), and the solar oven, addressing real problems like the lack of drinking water. The Supervised Teaching Practice (STP) provided the master's student with a vision of (re)discovery and transformation as an inherent need in the educational process, considering it a comprehensive process of self-discovery and transformation for both teachers and students, enabling them to become the best versions of themselves, equipped with the knowledge, skills, abilities, attitudes, and values needed to respond to the challenges of today's society. Thus, the document is entitled "Education as a Light that Transforms Lives and the World," reflecting the master's student's belief in education as a powerful toai capable of changing lives.
