Abstract(s)
The global and rising development of the society has brought new needs and challenges to School. To come up with an answer, educational institutions assumed the responsibility to provide an enlarged timetable on several Primary Schools so children may be occupied with learning activities. The concept of full time school and curriculum enrichment activities emerges from the latter. On this study, we aim to understand student’s needs and also the obstacles that the teachers had to face to optimize such activities. The first part brings an approach to nuclear topics: the concept of full time school; the juridical background which supports the activities; curriculum management; the importance of artistic expressions on child’s development; teacher’s organization and the ludic component of the activities. The study assumes a qualitative approach and develops a case study in a Primary School. During the investigation, we analysed both School’s and promoter’s documentation, we did questionnaires to students, interviews (focus group model) to all the teacher involved and an individual interview to School’s principal. Recognizing the importance of such activities on children’s development, hereby we present a plan that, according with our perspective, will contribute to better the activities within a ludic context, articulated and support by the student’s interests and motivations
