Abstract(s)
This internship report was implemented within the framework of the Master in Music Education at ESMAE/ESE Politécnico do Porto and is divided into three chapters, intending to reflect mostly on the path taken by the mastering student during the academic year 2016/2017. The first chapter constitutes the Musical Practice and Observation Guide, containing legislative and historical context and the educational plan of the Escola Profissional Artística do Vale do Ave. The second chapter focuses on the Supervised Educational Practice, contemplating a reflection about the teacher’s role and his training, the characterization of the subject and the intervening students, balancing the planned taught lessons and the records of the observed classes. The third and final chapter contemplates the description and discussion of the chosen research theme. It aims to discuss and reflect on the influence of yoga practice in teaching/learning an instrument, highlighting the main postures and breathing exercises. To better measure the influence of this practice, I opted for a qualitative study, more precisely the technique of interview inquiry. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with yoga teachers and with teachers of a stringed musical instrument, from the Specialized Music Education, who practice yoga. The conclusion allows presenting a synthesis of the key results related to the benefits of the practice of this technique in the field of instrumental teaching.
