| dc.description.abstract | 1984 (Nineteen Eighty-four) de George Orwell é uma obra muito lida e conhecida em todo o mundo. Nesta dissertação procura-se perceber as razões que levaram George Orwell a escrever esta obra, bem como o porquê de o livro continuar a ser tão lido e (re)traduzido até hoje, após o que se faz uma análise de três das traduções interlinguísticas recentemente publicadas: duas para português europeu (por Geraldo Quintas da Porto Editora e José Miguel Silva do Relógio D’Água) e uma para português variante brasileira por Heloisa Jahn & Alexandre Hubner, dando especial ênfase à problemática das perdas e dos ganhos, bem como da equivalência cultural na tradução literária. Finalmente, é feita uma análise comparativa do texto original com a sua tradução intersemiótica para banda desenhada por Fido Nesti, onde se pretende mostrar as eventuais perdas e ganhos, bem como os problemas de equivalência da tradução entre códigos verbais, códigos verbo-icónicos e códigos não-verbais. Neste trabalho de investigação e de análise tradutológica apoiamo-nos nas teorias de autores como Lawrence Venuti, Julio Plaza e Aba-Carina Parlôg, Jean-Paul Vinay & Jean Darbelnet e Peter Newmark para fundamentar as nossas opiniões e conclusões. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | 1984 (Nineteen Eighty-four) by George Orwell is a widely read and well-known work throughout the world. This dissertation seeks to understand the reasons that led George Orwell to write this work, as well as why the book continues to be so read and (re)translated to this day, after which an analysis of three of the recently published interlinguistic translations is made: two to European Portuguese (by Geraldo Quintas, Porto Editora, and José Miguel Silva, Relógio D'Água) and one to Brazilian Portuguese by Heloisa Jahn & Alexandre Hubner. with special emphasis on the problem of losses and gains, as well as cultural equivalence in literary translation. Finally, a comparative analysis of the original text is made with its intersemiotic translation to comics by Fido Nesti, where it is intended to show the possible losses and gains, as well as the problems of translation equivalence between verbal codes, verbiconic codes and non-verbal codes. The present research and translational analysis is based on the theories of authors such as Lawrence Venuti, Julio Plaza and Aba-Carina Parlôg, Jean-Paul Vinay & Jean Darbelnet and Peter Newmark. | pt_PT |
