Abstract(s)

It is against this background that the present work is centered, exploring whether there is adequacy between the academic training in the Human Resources area and the current demands of the labor market in Portugal. For this purpose, two studies were carried out. In the first study we did a collection of job advertisements directed to the Human Resources area, aiming to understand what the competencies demanded by the labor market in this professional field. In the second study, we analyzed the educational-training field of the Human Resources area, in order to understand if the course plans fit the one requested in the job advertisements. The results show that, in general, there is adequacy between academic training and the requirements of the labor market in the area of Human Resources, with some aspects that can be improved. The competences in the areas of Informatics, English, Recruitment and Selection, Administrative Management of HR, Communication, Salary Processing, Labor Law / Legislation and Training Management are the most valued by the job market in this professional area.
