Abstract(s)
A variabilidade
bem-estar mental neste sector.
Burnout, a syndrome resulting from chronic workplace stress, has become increasingly prevalent, particularly in high-demand sectors such as hospitality. Middle management, tasked with balancing operational demands and team leadership, is particularly vulnerable to this condition. This dissertation focuses on assessing the levels and dimensions of burnout among middle managers in the hospitality industry. This is a quantitative study, where the information collected was done through a survey. The sample for this study is 120 middle managers and the data collected was analyzed using SPSS software version 28. Further findings indicate prevalent psychological complaints, with 508% of respondents frequently feeling stressed and 308% experiencing anxiety and panic attacks. Psychosomatic symptoms, such as headaches and palpitation, are also common, with 458% reporting frequent headaches. The variability in mental detachment symptoms among respondents underscores the diverse nature of burnout experiences, emphasizing that mental health is perceived differently by individuals. The findings underscore the significant prevalence of burnout among middle managers in the hospitality industry, with high levels of exhaustion, mental detachment, and psychological symptoms being particularly prominent. These results highlight the urgent need for targeted interventions to mitigate burnout and promote mental well-being within this sector.
