Abstract(s)
This report was prepared within the scope of the curricular unit Supervised Teaching Practice, of the Master's in Teaching Music Education in Basic Education at the Escola Superior de Educação do Instituto Politécnico do Porto. The report is developed in three chapters. In the first chapter, a reflective description of the observations made in the context of the 2nd cycle of Music Education in Basic Education is carried out. The second chapter consists of the characterization of the school and the class with which the PES was carried out, as well as a reasoned reflection on the methodological options applied, the challenges that emerged and how they were overcome. In the third chapter, the research project entitled “Conceptions of musical creativity: perceptions of AEC music teachers” is presented. It appears that “musical education” includes activities to enhance the subject's abilities. Regarding musical creativity activities, it is still not clear among the professional community what their benefits are and, therefore, they often do not have a prominent place in the discipline of Music Education. With this study we intend to understand what the conceptions of musical creativity by teachers in the context of Music of the “Activities of Curricular Enrichment” are in the 1st Cycle of EB. The study presents a descriptive and reflective approach to the activities developed in the discipline of MS, not only in the development of creativity, but also in the development of the various skills associated with musical practice. The methodology consisted of interviews with ACE Music teachers. The study concludes that teachers do not practice as many activities to develop musical creativity as they would like. Finally, a reflection is carried out on the entire course and on the changes identified in the educational practices of the master's student.
