| dc.description.abstract | O silêncio molda-se pelo contexto em que é sentido e, por isso, muitas vezes tomamos a sua compreensão como simples. Contudo, se analisarmos em detalhe a imensidade de situações em que este acontece, podemos perceber que o seu significado não é único, mas sim diverso e complexo. O silêncio é calma, é sossego, é dor, é constrangedor, varia culturalmente, mas não é mais a ausência de som – é expressão, sente-se fisicamente e cada pessoa recebe e cria silêncio, sozinha e em conjunto. A literatura já categorizou o silêncio, mas não existe um consenso. Este projeto de pesquisa artística tem como objetivo compreender este conceito e perceber como nós, humanos, nos relacionamos com ele, indo para além do mundo sonoro e assumindo-o como algo audiovisual. Através da criação de uma instalação artística onde o som e a luz são veículos de expressão deste conceito, este projeto propõe encher o espaço expositivo de silêncios, onde a materialidade destes é evidenciada pelos meios usados e se faz sentir nos corpos presentes. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Silence is shaped by the context in which it is felt; therefore, we often consider its understanding as a simple thing. However, if we analyse in detail the vast range of situations in which it occurs, we can acknowledge that its meaning is not singular, but rather diverse and complex. Silence is calm, it is quietness, it is pain, it is awkward, it varies culturally, but it is no longer merely the absence of sound – it is expression, it is felt physically, and each person receives and creates silence, alone and with others. Literature has already categorised silence, but there is no consensus. This artistic research project aims to understand this concept and how we, humans, relate to it, going beyond the auditory world and taking it on as something audiovisual. Through the creation of an artistic installation where sound and light are vehicles for the expression of this concept, this project proposes to fill the exhibition space with silences, where their materiality is evidenced by the means used and felt by the bodies present. | pt_PT |
