| dc.description.abstract | A construção de um personagem fílmico obedece a um processo que pode ir desde a pré-produção até à pós-produção de um filme. No caso do cinema documental, os personagens têm origens diversas, podendo ser “atores sociais” (Nichols, 1991, p. 42), ou seja, figuras da vida real, que são representadas pela sua própria performance, mas também podem ser personagens do passado, que o autor do filme recria, ao recolher sobre elas informações, testemunhos e/ou documentos. Para entender este processo, abordamos as origens da biografia enquanto género literário e cinematográfico, analisando a sua relação com a história, com os factos e com a ficção. Tendo como objetivo paralelo a construção da biografia fílmica de Luis Neves Real (1910-1985), académico e cinéfilo portuense do seculo XX, refletimos sobre o papel do realizador na construção de uma personagem que será por ele moldada. Analisamos também os documentários Le tombeau d’Alexandre (1993) de Chris Marker e Finding Vivian Maier (2O13) de John Maloof e Charlie Siskel, enquanto atitude para compreender de que modo a organização retórica dos testemunhos ajuda a apresentar uma personagem para um sujeito já desaparecido e que integrará a memória coletiva como uma realidade cultural que o cinema ajudou a construir. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | To build a film character follows a process that can go to the pre-production to the post-production of a film. ln documental cinema, characters have different origins. They can be “social actors” (Nichols, 1991, p. 42), that is figures of real life which are represented by their own performance, but they also could be figures from the past, which the film`s author recreates by collecting information, testimonials or documents about them. To understand this process, we discuss the origins of the biography as a literary and cinematic genre, analyzing its relationship with the history, with facts, and with the fiction. Having as parallel objective the construction of a biographical film about Luís Neves Real (1910-1985), an academic and cinephile from Porto (Portugal) of twentieth century. We think over the role of the director at the construction of a character that would be molded by him. We also analyze the documentaries Le tombeau d’Alexandre (1993) by Chris Marker and Finding Vivian Maief (2013) by John Maloof e Charlie Siskel as an attitude to understand how the organization of the testimonials’ rhetoric helps to present a character of a person who had already disappeared and that will integrate the collective memory as a cultural reality that cinema helped to build. | pt_PT |
