Apresenta-se o aproveitamento energético da utilização de coletores solares para aquecimento de água para banho em duas habitações unifamiliares na cidade de Santana de Parnaíba, Brasil e na cidade do Porto, Portugal. Para a análise em questão deve-se verificar a potência de irradiação solar nas duas cidades, considerando os hábitos da população, cultura, condições geográficas e meteorológicas.
Foram dimensionados e projetados 2 sistemas equivalentes para residências com 4 moradores e em seguida calculado seu custo através do Guia de Parametrização de São Paulo. Pode-se verificar a viabilidade das instalações de um sistema de aquecimento solar térmico nas duas edificações foi satisfatória e o retorno do investimento se dará por volta de 30 meses. O outro sistema tornou-se inviável para esse porte de edificação.
