Abstract(s)
In a college institution, one of the main goals is to fill the vacancies offered and answered the social responsability objetctives. Since 2009, the Federal Institute of Mato Grosso - Campus Pontes and Lacerda has held the 'Enchantment Project', an action developed with the students enrolled in the 9th grade of the elementary schools of the Municipality of Pontes and Lacerda, in order to encourage them to continue the studies in the secondary education integrated in the IFMT and thus, fulfill the offered vacancies and meet the social responsibility of the institution. Even though it has been carried out almost every year, there has not yet been a survey of its efficiency. Based on this diagnosis, this descriptive case study was carried out using a mixed data collection technique in the campus premises, in order to ascertain its efficiency as a strategy for attracting new students. The target public were the students enrolled in the years of 2017 and 2018 in the integrated high school courses of the morning and afternoon groups and the servers that worked on the "Enchantment" application in the years of 2016 and 2017; documentary research and participative observation of the researcher were also used as a method of data collection. The results showed that the 'Enchantment Project' has been efficient in attracting new students to integrated secondary education, since almost 80% of the students interviewed stated that they were influenced to partake in the selection process as students in the IFMT; the opinion of the servers and information on the number of students before and after the project implementation help to attest its efficiency. The goals of this case study are to improve the applicability of the 'Enchantment Project' and to set an example for federal institutes that have similar problems when it comes to obtaining new students.
