O desenvolvimento económico tornou evidente a necessidade de se proceder a uma integração das
questões ambientais nos sistemas de gestão, de modo a satisfazer as necessidades socioeconómicas.
Otimizando a utilização dos recursos e prevenindo a poluição. Neste contexto a Gestão Ambiental
constituiu um vector estratégico para as empresas que, num meio competitivo e em constante
evolução, pretendem ter um crescimento sustentado no segmento de mercado.
Após a implementação de um Sistema de Gestão Ambiental, organização poderá obter benefícios
económicos provenientes da análise que faz da utilização dos recursos, tais como a energia, a água e as
matérias-primas, obtendo ganhos ao racionalizar a sua utilização.
The economic development made evident the need to conduct an integration of environmental issues in the management systems, in order to meet the socio-economic needs.
