dc.description.abstractEsta pesquisa tem como objetivo principal analisar quais os benefícios advindos aos blocos econômicos MERCOSUL e União Europeia com a implantação de um acordo de livre comércio, que atualmente está sendo negociado pelos países envolvidos. As negociações já duram mais de 20 anos e apesar dos contínuos esforços dos países pertencentes aos dois blocos, ainda não foi possível um acordo final. Para analisar este problema, foi escolhido como caminho metodológico a pesquisa bibliográfica e o levantamento de dados por meio de documentos oficiais, reportagens e outros arquivos que permitiram reconstituir o histórico das negociações e analisar as implicações contidas nos diversos intentos e relacionamento entre os blocos. O primeiro e segundo capítulos trazem as bases do MERCOSUL e da União Europeia, respectivamente, abordando suas origens, características e funcionamento. No terceiro capítulo fazemos um resgate das negociações entre os blocos desde 1995, tratando sobre os principais temas abordados ao longo desse processo. Por fim, o quarto capítulo aprofunda sobre as discussões mais recentes e busca compreender os conflitos e as motivações pelas quais ainda não se tem a definição de um acordo de livre comércio entre a União Europeia e o MERCOSUL.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractThe main objective of this research is to analyze the benefits of the MERCOSUR and European Union economic blocs with the implementation of a free trade agreement that is currently being negotiated by the countries involved. The negotiations have lasted for more than 20 years and despite the continued efforts of the two bloc countries, a final agreement has not yet been reached. In order to analyze this problem, the bibliographical research and the collection of data through official documents, reports and other archives were used as a methodological way to reconstitute the history of the negotiations and analyze the implications of the various attempts and relationships between the blocks. The first and second chapters present the bases of MERCOSUR and the European Union, respectively, addressing their origins, characteristics and functioning. In the third chapter we make a rescue of the negotiations between the blocs since 1995, dealing with the main issues addressed throughout this process. Finally, the fourth chapter explores the most recent discussions and seeks to understand the conflicts and motivations for which the definition of a free trade agreement between the European Union and MERCOSUR has not yet been defined.pt_PT
