Martim— Um Olhar Fotográfico Sobre o Autismo Infantil e um projeto fotográfico
que tem como objetivo desenvolver um trabalho fotografico observacional sobre a vida
de uma criança com autismo. Essa criança é acompanhada em variados contextos —
quando brinca (a sós e em pequenos grupos) e quando se relaciona com diferentes
pessoas e espaços — onde é observada a forma como reage a diferentes estímulos.
A metodologia do processo fotografico passou por demonstrar algumas das
particularidades que caraterizam o autismo do Martim, no qual foi feito o
acompanhamento semanal durante um periodo de três meses. O processo metodológico
do ensaio passou inicialmente pela pesquisa sobre a condição do autismo, de forma a
perceber como, enquanto fotógrafa, poderia atuar. Numa fase mais avançada, foi
desenvolvida uma pesquisa sobre o papel da imagem fotográfica enquanto ferramenta
terapêutica. Essa pesquisa implicou uma análise a trabalhos de outros autores e o contato
com os profissionais especializados que acompanham o Martim diariamente, o que
ajudou a definir os vários caminhos para a abordagem fotografica.
Este projeto resultou na produçao de um livro de fotografia, onde nos é
permitido acompanhar o Martim nos diversos contextos que frequenta. Este livro é
dirigido ao Martim e aos seus pais e família, bem como a todas as pessoas que vivam com
a mesma condição e respetivas famílias. Para o público em geral poderá ser útil para que
possam conhecer uma realidade que, apesar de ter desafios diferentes dos seus, e todos
os dias vivida intensamente, com respeito e amor.
Martim— A Photographic Look on Childhood Autism is a photographic project that aims to develop an observational photographic work on the life of a child with autism. This child is concomitant in different contexts — when playing (alone and in different small groups) and when interacting with different people and spaces — where the way he reacts to different stimuli is observed. The methodology of the photographic process involved demonstrating some of the particularities that characterize Martim's autism, in which weekly follow—up was carried out over a period of three months. The methodological process of the essay initially involved research on the condition of autism, in order to understand how, as a photographer, she could act. At a more advanced stage, research was carried out on the role of the photographic image as a therapeutic tool. This research required an analysis of works by other authors and contact with specialized professionals who follow Martim on a daily basis, which helped to define the various paths for the photographic approach. This project resulted in the production of a photography book, where we can follow Martim in the different contexts he frequents. This book is aimed at Martim and his parents and family, as well as all people living with the same condition and their families. For the general public, it could be useful for them to get to know a reality that, despite having challenges different from theirs, is lived intensely every day, with respect and love.
