Abstract(s)
O presente relatório reflete um projeto de investigação desenvolvido no
âmbito do Mestrado em Educação e Intervenção Social e intitulado “Um novo
sorriso: Arte de sorrir, quando o mundo diz que não”. Este projeto foi
sustentado pela metodologia de Investigação Ação-Participativa, evidenciando
um processo de intervenção coconstruído e desenvolvido com um grupo de
pessoas desempregadas e inseridas num projeto de apoio à melhoria da sua
saúde oral.
O projeto de intervenção social “Um novo sorriso: Arte de sorrir, quando o
mundo diz que não” seguiu a finalidade “melhorar as condições de vida das
pessoas participantes, aumentando a valorização pessoal e as suas
competências com vista a combater o desemprego prolongado”. Este projeto
procurou que os sujeitos dessem os primeiros passos no sentido de um maior
reconhecimento das suas competências pessoais e profissionais, e do seu
enriquecimento, para que fossem capazes de se valorizar mais, reunindo uma
maior capacidade para trabalhar na resolução dos seus problemas, como
aqueles que se relacionavam com a situação de desemprego. Assim, ao longo
deste relatório apresenta-se a construção do conhecimento sobre a realidade e
o desenho, desenvolvimento e avaliação do projeto. Através da análise da
realidade e da reflexão conjunta, percebeu-se com os sujeitos que a ausência
de saúde oral não era o seu único e, mesmo, principal problema. Tendo por
base a participação dos sujeitos reconheceram-se outros problemas e
necessidades. Identificaram-se potencialidades e recursos que favoreceram e
sustentaram o desenho e o desenvolvimento do projeto.
Avaliou-se o projeto desde o início da sua execução até aos resultados que
foram concretizados, refletindo-se também acerca das dificuldades
encontradas.
This report reflects a research project developed in the scope of the Master's Degree in Education and Social Intervention and entitled "A new smile: Art of smiling when the world says no". This project was supported by the Participatory Research-Action methodology, showing a process of intervention co built and developed with a group of people who are unemployed and are part of a project to support the improvement of their oral health. The project of social intervention “A New Smile: Art of smiling when the world says no” was guided by the main purpose of "improving the living conditions of the people involved, by increasing self-valorization and skills in order to combat prolonged unemployment ". This project sought that subjects gave the first steps in the recognition of their personal and professional skills, and its enrichment, gaining a better ability to work in solving their problems such as the ones related to their unemployment. Therefore, this report presents the construction of knowledge about reality, and the development and evaluation of the project. Through a joint analysis of the context and reflection, it was realized with the participants that the absence of oral health was not their only or even main problem. Based on the active participation of the subjects, other problems and needs were identified. Also, potentialities and resources were identified in order to better sustain the design and development of the project. The project was evaluated from the beginning of its development till the conclusion, and main difficulties were also acknowledged.
