Abstract(s)

But this work it is also aimed at understanding how to direct a film in which one tries to apply the rules of Cinéma Vérité and of a director who cannot refrain from participating in the documentary. We also study and investigate the search for intimacy with the participants in order to find the filmic device that better suits the needs of the film. The final product of this work is the documentary “Cantareira”, a film that shows the everyday life of two families in the community while trying to present an image as close to possible of the people who trusted us to tell their story. The choice of a reduced team of only two elements is also a matter of analysis in this paper, because this option was important for getting close to the community, although it also created some obstacles along the way.
