Esta investigação incide sobre a gestão da informação (GI), utilizando seus meios para
obter melhorias nos fluxos informacionais em uma instituição de ensino. A gestão da
informação é conhecida como um recurso indispensável para as organizações e através
da GI pode-se gerar oportunidades de melhorias no tratamento das informações. Neste
processo, uma parte importante é o mapeamento do fluxo informacional dos processos.
Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo realizar o levantamento dos possíveis problemas
relacionados à gestão da informação em um departamento de uma instituição pública de
ensino, com base no mapeamento dos processos relacionados ao ensino técnico. Para
alcançar estes objetivos, foi realizado um estudo de caso único no Departamento de Apoio
ao Ensino do Instituto Federal de Rondônia – Campus Ji-Paraná, por meio de uma
pesquisa exploratória. Para a recolha de dados, foram utilizados documentos oficiais da
instituição e entrevistas semiestruturadas com os colaboradores do setor. Como
resultados, foi elaborado o mapeamento do fluxo dos processos relativos ao ensino
técnico. Desta forma, fundamenta-se uma maior compreensão das atividades que são
desempenhadas no setor, base essencial para a melhoria global da gestão da informação
na instituição.
This research focuses Information Management (IM) using its resources for improvements in information records in an educational institution. Information management is known as an indispensable resource for organizations, and through IM opportunities for improvement in information approach can be generated. In this process, an important part is the informational flow of processes mapping. This study aimed to survey the possible problems related to information management in a department of a public educational institution, based on the processes mapping related to technical education. To achieve these objectives, a single case study was conducted at the Department of Teaching Support of the Instituto Federal de Rondônia (IFRO) - Ji-Paraná Campus, through an exploratory research. For data collection, official documents of the institution and semi-structured interviews with employees of the department were used. As a result, the mapping flow of the processes related to technical education was elaborated. In this way, the understanding of the activities that are performed in the department has been improved, as essential basis for the overall improvement of information management in the institution.
