| dc.description.abstract | O presente relatório procura analisar e descrever o estágio curricular realizado na We Translate On Time, no quadro do Mestrado em Tradução e Interpretação Especializadas do Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto. Este relatório irá centrar-se em questões de tradução jurídica e certificada e na linguagem jurídica. No capítulo inicial será feita uma contextualização teórica do tema a ser estudado, com enfoque na tradução jurídica e certificada. Adicionalmente, será feito um enquadramento da relação do Direito com a Tradução, assim como uma explicação das diferenças entre o Direito Civil e do Direito Consuetudinário e as suas influências na tradução. Seguidamente, será abordado o tema do tradutor jurídico e da inexistência do papel do tradutor ajuramentado em Portugal. O capítulo seguinte consistirá na apresentação da entidade de acolhimento do estágio, fazendo também uma descriminação das várias etapas do fluxo de trabalho da empresa e na exposição das tarefas realizadas no estágio. Será, também, feita uma avaliação das línguas de trabalho e tipos de documentos traduzidos e revistos durante este processo. O terceiro capítulo irá focar-se na linguagem jurídica e nos seus desafios, especialmente as dificuldades morfológicas, sintáticas, semânticas e terminológicas. Sublinhará igualmente as questões terminológicas, através de um glossário realizado aquando do estágio, incluindo exemplos práticos do mesmo. Por fim, apresentam-se soluções e estratégias de tradução que poderão ajudar a resolver estas complexidades. Em última análise, será feita uma breve reflexão acerca do estágio e das práticas da empresa, tendo em consideração questões de confidencialidade e a utilização, ou falta de utilização, das ferramentas TAC. | dc.description.abstract | This report aims to analyse and describe the curricular internship carried out at We Translate On Time, as part of the Master’s Programme in Specialised Translation and Interpretation at the Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto. This report will focus on the characteristics of Legal and Certified Translation and Legal Language. The first chapter provides a theoretical framework of the topic to be studied, focusing on Legal and Certified Translation. In addition, it explains the relationship between Law and Translation, as well as the differences between Civil Law and Common Law and their influence on Translation. This is followed by a discussion of the Legal translator and the non-existent role of the sworn translator in Portugal. The next chapter presents the host institution of the internship, where there is an explanation of the various stages of the company’s workflow and the tasks carried out during this time. It also evaluates the working laguages and the types of documents translated and proofreaded during this process. The third chapter focuses on Legal language and its challenges, especially morphological, syntatic, semantic and terminological difficulties. It emphasises terminological issues through a glossary created during the interniship and with practical examples of the same. Finally, it presents translation strategies that can help solve all these complexities. Ultimately, there is a brief reflection on the internship and the company’s practices, taking into consideration confidentiality and the use of or lack of use of CAT tools. It then considers how a more reliable translation can be achieved. | pt_PT |
