O presente projeto apresenta análises técnico-instrumentais de três obras emblemáticas do contrabaixista e compositor Frank Proto: A Sonata “1963”, A Fantasia “Carmen” e as Quatro “Rouges” para contrabaixo e piano em perspetiva da sua preparação para performance. Será dado uma contextualização histórica e formal das obras. Um retrato que examina a relação entre compositor e interprete. Os resultados das três análises técnico-instrumentais incluem indicações relevantes para o contrabaixista, compositor e interprete.
The present project presents technical and instrumental reviews of three emblematic works by the bassist - composer Frank Proto: The Sonata "1963", The Fantasia "Carmen" and the Four “Rouges" for double bass and piano, with a view to its preparation for performance. A historical and formal contextualization of the works will be provided as well as a portrait where the relationship between composer and interpreter is examined. The results of the three technical-instrumental reviews include indications of interest to the bass player, composer and performer.
